About the project

Creating a Waitrose-ready cider brand in a category built on loud illustrated fruit.

The challenge

Following feedback from retailers and consumers, SXOLLIE needed a new 4-pack design and a visual refresh to support its move into premium retail ventures.

Clichés we rebelled against
UK fruit cider is dominated by saturated single colours and large illustrated fruit graphics to shout flavour from the fridge. It’s a format built for supermarket and festival visibility, not for sitting comfortably on a premium retailer’s shelf.

The approach

We paired a cleaner font family with softer, more approachable colours, dialling down the illustrated fruit shouting for something that could hold its own against Waitrose’s own standards while keeping the boldness people already liked about the brand. The same restraint carried over into the 4-pack and broader touchpoints, so the retail-ready version still looked unmistakably SXOLLIE.

We set out to help the brand look exactly how it tasted and acted: refreshing, bold, and honest.
